Attendees: Doug Lohmeier, Stiney Vonderhaar, Jim Bothe, Chief Cruse, Chief Foust, Dave Nichols, Sandra Murphy, James Jeffers

I.      Gorman Heritage Farm
Sandra Murphy reported that the summer camps and the market cart are going well. The pavilion restrooms are almost complete and already have interest in rental opportunities. The tractor jam was held Saturday Aug. 2 with poor attendance, no fund raising figures had been calculated yet. Upper meadow fence project was almost complete and the Social Venture Partnership will be reviewing the strategic plan with GHF staff. The partnership with the Boy Scouts has 4 Eagle Scout projects in the works.

II.     Engineering
a.      Residential road final paving is scheduled for the week of August 10th.
b.      Gate Club entrance is scheduled to start on Aug. 14th after Blue Ash Council approves the easement changes.
c.      Reading Road - Glendale-Milford road intersection striping will be done next week, was delayed because of rain.
d.      Mr. Vonderhaar asked if the timing/flow of the light at Reading Road & Gorman Lane could be evaluated to eliminate turning confusion with cars from Formica.

III.    Recreation
a.      Dave Nichols reported back on his evaluation of a lease versus buy of Cardio Equipment and felt it is best and less expensive to buy/replace equipment over the next two years versus a lease program.
b.      Phi Lambda Pi 50th reunion was held July 25th with great fun and renewed friendships from those who attended.

IV.     Service
Mr. Bothe deferred to chief Cruse on monies in his budget for capital improvements in the Firehouse, i.e. Carpet in the training room

V.      Fire
a.      Hiring update- on Sept. 2 hiring committee will interview 3 candidates to hire one for replacement of  Firefighter Jeff Harper and promoting Bob Murray
b.      Apparatus Grant request has been submitted and can expect a response with the next 12 months.
c.      Redirection of appropriated capital monies- As referred to above capital money is in the Building maintenance budget for building improvements and Chief Cruse has requested and received approval to direct that to replacing the carpet in the training room.

Other items:    
        Mr. Lohmeier asked about the status of the lighting on the South Reading road entrance and was told alterations to the electric were needed to pass inspection and is expected to be completed next week.

        Chief Foust distributed Police Chief Candidate profiles for council review and interviews on August 17th.

        Mr. Lohmeier asked the department heads how their staff responded to the inquiry for feedback concerning the health insurance benefits and discussion for 2010. The Police-Finance-Administration committee was discussing in more detail and will report to full council.
